The NACIAN Journal is the official peer-reviewed, open-access research publication of Northwestern Agusan Colleges (NAC), Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, Philippines. It showcases high-quality, original research across diverse disciplines aligned with the NAC Strategic Institutional Research Framework (NSIRF).

NACIAN stands for New Avenues in Classroom Instruction, Assessment, and Networked Innovation — reflecting the journal's commitment to advancing transformative education, evidence-based assessment, and collaborative innovation for sustainable institutional and community impact.

Mission & Vision
Mission

To provide a credible, globally visible scholarly platform for NAC faculty, students, researchers, and partner institutions to disseminate innovative research that advances human development, sustainable excellence, and the five NSIRF pillars.

Vision

By 2030, the NACIAN Journal shall be a CHED-recognized, internationally indexed (Scopus/ACI) peer-reviewed research publication driving quality research outputs, institutional research culture, and regional impact.

Research Scope & NSIRF Pillars

The journal invites submissions aligned with, but not limited to, the five NSIRF research pillars:

Pillar 1: Human Flourishing & Ethical Leadership (UN-SDG 3)
Pillar 2: Transformative & Inclusive Learning (UN-SDG 4)
Pillar 3: Equitable Governance & Social Responsibility (UN-SDG 5)
Pillar 4: Sustainable Workforce & Economic Excellence (UN-SDG 8)
Pillar 5: Smart Systems, Innovation & Economic Resilience (UN-SDG 9)

We accept Research Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, and Case Studies from NAC and partner HEIs nationally and internationally.

Editorial & Peer Review Process

NACIAN Journal follows a rigorous, multi-stage editorial workflow ensuring quality, ethics, and scholarly integrity:

  1. Administrative Screening (R&D Officer / Domain Admin) — completeness & formatting check
  2. Initial Editorial Screening (Editor-in-Chief) — scope, novelty, and merit review
  3. Manuscript Assignment to Associate Editor (AE)
  4. Triple Review Framework:
    • Ethics Review by the Ethics Committee Chair
    • Statistical Review by the Resident Statistician (as needed)
    • Double-Blind Peer Review by 2–3 independent subject-matter experts
  5. Revision & Re-review (as needed, minor or major)
  6. Associate Editor Recommendation to EiC
  7. Final Decision by Editor-in-Chief (Accept / Revise / Reject)
  8. Production, Author Proof & Publication
